Musical Drills for Clef Notes, Keyboard, and Guitar
Welcome to KeyNote Music Drills! This program was written to allow the beginning music student to drill note identification on the basic music clefs including treble clef, bass clef, and the grand staff. There are additional drills for the alto and tenor clefs. Also, practice key identification and note location on the keyboard, and fret identification and note location on the guitar and bass guitar fingerboard. REGISTRATION
KeyNote Music Drills is Shareware and may be freely distributed as no fee is charged and all files are shipped intact and together. You may use and evaluate KeyNote for a 15 day free trial period. If you decide to register your copy of KeyNote, you will receive:
1. A serial number that will unlock the sound playback feature and disable the registration reminders. This registration number will be valid for all future minor revisions of KeyNote.
2. Free upgrades. Simply download the new shareware version from CompuServe or from selected Internet shareware depositories and use your registration number to convert it to a registered version. Your name and organization will appear in the about box after you enter your name and registration number.
3. Notification by e-mail (if provided) when future versions of KeyNote become available.
4. Free support for KeyNote directly from the author via e-mail (if provided).
INSTALLATION
PLEASE NOTE: You need to be running a 32-bit version of Windows which includes Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 or later. You CANNOT run 32-bit KeyNote Music Drills on Windows 3.11 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11. A 16-bit version of KeyNote is available on the KeyNote Web Page or in selected forums on CompuServe or in selected Internet shareware repositories.
1. Select an existing directory or create a new directory named KeyNote.
2. Extract the files in the KeyNote .ZIP file into the selected directory.
3. Create a new shortcut to the KeyNote program file using one of the following methods:
a) From Explorer drag the KeyNote.exe file onto the group of your choice.
b) From Explorer drag the KeyNote.exe file onto the Windows Start button.
c) From Explorer drag the KeyNote.exe file onto the Desktop.
UPGRADE NOTES
If you are upgrading from a previous version of KeyNote, the following notes will assist you in attaining a successful installation:
1. For previous users or 16-bit versions: Delete the files in your KeyNote directory and completely reinstall with the newer 32-bit version software.
2. Starting with version 1.50, KeyNote now supports the Windows 95/NT registry. If you have used a previous version of KeyNote you may safely delete the KEYNOTE.INI file in your Windows directory and reconfigure KeyNote to accommodate for newer/improved options. Registered users will need to re-enter their registration number.
3. Starting with version 1.51, a new method of registration license number generation has been implemented based on the registered name. All registered users will be notified of their new number either by e-mail or regular mail.
